First Year Experience program explained
�The First Year Experience classes are designed to orient the new students to North Greenville, to University life, and to what it takes to succeed as a college student,� said FYE Director Linwood Hagin. He explained the program teaches incoming students vital skills for making college doable, such as time management, note taking, studying and making the most of the advisors. It additionally teaches practical things like campus layout, handling relationships and even how to calculate a GPA.

New aviation minor allows pilots to get college credit
�I think there are probably a lot of people who are going to be interested in either being missionary pilots or using skills as a mechanic. It just adds one more element to your skill set if you are wanting to go to the mission field.”
Animal science program brings horses to campus
�Once we get up and rolling, students will be able to take riding lessons. Some students will be able to bring their horses here and have a place to keep them.”
Tuition, financial aid are rising
According to National Public Radio, the past three decades have seen college tuition increase at a faster rate than both inflation and income.
�In Arizona, for example, parents have seen a 77 percent increase in costs. In Georgia, it�s 75 percent, and in Washington state, 70 percent [in the last five years],� according to NPR.

Difference Maker of the week: Megan Lindler
Lights, glitz and glam may seem like the only things needed to be Miss North Greenville University; however, this coveted title also requires a great amount of tenacity, chutzpah and heart.
The winner of Miss NGU 2013, Megan Lindler, junior, said, �Being Miss NGU is more than just winning a competition, as some of my many responsibilities include presenting awards and making appearances at any event which may benefit the school and promote my position.�
