Player Profile: Aaron Campbell

Aaron Campbell is ending his last season as a crusader for the men’s volleyball team and is looking forward to the future.
Campbell is a senior for the North Greenville University men’s Volleyball team from Brookline, N.H. He is finishing his International business and economics degree. In his freshman season, 2015-2016, he played in 24 matches he had 98 spikes, 12 aces, 53 digs and 23 blocks for the season. Highlights included a 13-kill match against Limestone and five blocks against Mount Olive in a four-set loss. In his sophomore campaign he saw action in 23 matches and his season stats saw an uptick in production as well as for the season. He had 191 kills, 13 aces, 110 digs, and 38 blocks. His highlights on the season include 20 kills in a five-set win over Limestone College, 15 digs in a four-set win at Erskine College as well as Blocking Emmanuel 7 times in a five-set win.
Campbell currently sat 3rd on the school’s all-time kills list with 453 through just 3 seasons at NGU and entered this season just 18 kills behind second place. Reaching first place would be nearly impossible as first place is Matthew McManaway who holds a tight grip on the record with 978 kills in his four years at North Greenville from 2015-2018. Second place was up for grabs and on January 9, 2019 Campbell moved into second place all-time kills list as he recorded 10 kills against Queens in a four-set victory in Charlotte, N.C. The team concluded Campbell’s senior season with an overall record of 16-13 and an 8-8 conference record and an appearance in the conference semifinal in the tournament after they upset Belmont Abbey in the Quarterfinals. Campbell finished his career second on the list in career kills, he also will finish his career in top five in total digs in a career and total blocks. He is top five in total sets played and top 10 in total matches played.
Campbell finishes a very successful tenure at North Greenville University where he is top 10 in many different statistics. While the men’s volleyball program is still very young, Campbell has put up numbers that should stand and keep him in the top five in many different categories. His production will be hard for the Crusaders to replace as in back to back seasons the team has lost the number one and two all-time school kills leaders and will look for its younger players to step in and fill the void and replace their production. As for Campbell, he graduated with his International/Economics degree in May.
