Juniors, Braeden and Austin Dixon play lacrosse for North Greenville University. Austin plays attack and Braeden plays goalie.

“We decided to come play lacrosse at NGU because we meshed well with the team and really felt at home with all the guys,” said Austin. “It’s all one big family.”

“We knew we wanted to stay together for college because we have a very close relationship. We both loved the team and thought it would be a good fit,” said Braeden

Austin enjoys the everyday grind of being a student athlete. It’s a hard lifestyle, but he enjoys waking up early for lifting and going to practice. “It’s very rewarding once gameday comes, and you know all that work you’ve put in was worth it, “said Austin.

The twins enjoy playing on the same team. “We also love being able to play against each other day in and day out because we play on different sides of the ball.” said Braeden “It’s just awesome to have your best friend on the same team with you.”

Austin and Braeden knew when they were choosing what school they wanted to go to they wanted to be together. “We weren’t quite ready to separate,” Austin explained.

The twins have made many memories playing together. “I have played on so many teams and competed in so many games with Braeden. There are so many good and bad memories,” Austin stated.

“Some of my favorite games I’ve ever played have been because of Braeden having such a dominant performance,” said Austin. “I play attack, so I’m on the opposite end of the field watching him play, it is such an awesome feeling.”

Since the twins play opposite positions, there is some rivalry between the two, especially in practice. “He knows where I shoot more so than other teammates,” Austin said. “I’ve been shooting on him as my goalie for so many years. It’s frustrating for me, but it makes me a better player.”
