For many TV addicts, it isn’t enough to just watch a show. They need to analyze it obsessively, and look for the tiny details that will reveal bigger, deeper context, and history, for their favorite fictional universes. Listed below are 5 shocking possible truths about some of today’s most well-known and revered TV shows.

  1. The Flintstones and The Jetsons actually take place in a post-apocalyptic landscape.

The theory is that the world of the Jetsons and the Flintstones exist concurrently – that what exists on the ground below Orbit City is the bombed out remains of Earth. Both the shows were created during the Cold War.

One example is that they use primitive tools (and animals) to replicate modern technology – if they had never seen modern technology, why/how would they need/know to do that?

Another idea is that the Jetsons could be the people with money, while the poor people make do with the obliterated Earth below…and maybe the Flintstones are disfigured by fallout and that’s why they’re square-like in shape.

  2. Caillou is actually about childhood cancer.

Why does Caillou not have any hair? One of the main Caillou conspiracy theories is that he is bald because he has cancer. Aware of the fact that he has cancer and may not live to adulthood he lives through his imagination to imagine the things he would do if he had the chance to be an adult.

This explains how he is allowed off on his own and gets away with so much, as his parents are sympathetic to the fact that he has a mortal illness.

  3. Grey’s Anatomy is actually about Meredith’s struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Grey’s Anatomy fans have speculated before the series could end with the revelation that Meredith Grey has Alzheimer’s disease.

Ever wonder how one woman can survive two hospital shootings, a flood, an earthquake? One of the doctors was hit by a bus. Another was run down by a semi-truck while stopped in the middle of the road. And a third was electrocuted. Half a dozen doctors wound up in a plane crash. Doesn’t it seem un-believable?

  4. Winnie the Pooh characters actually represent mental disorders.

This theory claims that Christopher Robin’s animal friends could ALL be figments of his imagination.

One of the most obvious examples is Eeyore. Many fans believe that Eeyore is supposed to represent depression with his gloomy outlook.

Another example is Tigger. Tigger is known to be the risk-taker of the bunch. Tigger has no knowledge of the potential outcome of his many experiments, and he is always found climbing tall trees and acting very intrusive in social situations.

  5. Full House’s Uncle Joey is the biological father of all the Tanner children.

Have you ever wondered why all of the Tanner kids are blonde? This theory makes the case that instead of Danny being their father, Uncle Joey is their biological father.

This theory makes a good case that it’s statistically improbable that Danny Tanner could be the father.

It’s also unlikely that some random friend from college would stick around to help raise a house full of kids, for years, without having some greater attachment to them.
