WCU college student shot
Late last Friday, two teenagers attacked 21-year-old Jacob Ray from Western Carolina University. Ray fights for his life in a hospital in Asheville while the police hold the assailants in custody.
Police stop bomb in Ashville
A tragedy averted at the Ashville Regional Airport when the police’s hazardous device team uncovered a bomb at 6:30 a.m. Friday. Authorities detained 46-year-old suspect Michael Christopher Estes without struggle Saturday morning. Police have yet to find a motive.
Pakistani teen photographs electric honeycomb
At 17 years old, Muhammed Shaheer Niazi is now a recognized scientist. The first to photograph the movement of ions that results in the electric honeycomb, his research has been published in the Royal Society Open Science journal.
Another airline leaves Venezuela
Argentine Airlines closed its flights to the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, joining United, Delta and many others who have suspended their services there. According to Peter Cerdá, vice-president of Iata, the central trade body of all airlines, Argentine Airlines harbor concern over the political instability and rising criminal activity in the area.
