Catching the attention of soccer federations around the world, the Norwegian FA announced Friday that starting in 2018, the men’s national team will be giving 550,000 kroner ($69,000) in marketing payments yearly to the women’s team in order to maintain equal payment among both male and female athletes.

This collective bargaining agreement promises the women’s national team fixed payments that will bring them to 6 million kroner ($751,000) a year, allowing them to receive the exact same amount as the men’s team.

The president of the Norwegian players union who represents both the men and women’s national soccer teams stated “It was the FA’s own idea to do it equally 100 percent, and they asked if we could make it exactly 6 million Norwegian Keoner for both.  It makes me proud to see how proud they are.”

New York Giants Wide Receiver Odell Beckham Jr.  endured an ankle fracture during Sunday’s match against the Los Angeles Chargers which ultimately resulted in a 17-22 loss.

In obvious agony with his left leg clutched to him, Beckham was carted off the field after going up for a catch and landing tricky back on to the field.  Charger players immediately noticed Beckham’s injury and motioned over for medical attention.

Beckham placed a towel over his head as he cried out in tears while the card carried him to the locker room where he later left the stadium on a card with his left leg in a boot, the same ankle that was problematic for the famed wide receiver during the preseason.  He will be receiving a second opinion to see what the next step is.

NGU Crusaders took to Salisbury, N.C.  on Saturday in hopes of a victory over the Catawba Indians but ultimately fell short during overtime.  With a 26-20 loss, the Crusaders put up a match but failed to break Catawba’s streak of beating NGU in their last three meetings.

Catawba overtook the scoreboard with the first points of the game after NGU’s interception that led to a battle from the beginning.

One player that took the field by storm was running back and senior Tristen Jackson who on 13 carries had 63 yards.  Scoring two touchdowns, this senior kept control during the game as he scored his first touchdowns of his senior season.

“When I first scored, we were down in the game so I was trying to do everything I could to get us back in. It felt great to finally get into the end zone,” Jackson said.

The team’s mentality of victory will remain the same as they host Florida Tech for a rematch from the plays of the 2016 season.  “Even though it did hurt to lose the game the way we did, I know that we have more games that we need to win and we can’t dwell on that loss if we plan to move on,” Jackson said.

The game will be at 12 p.m. at Younts Stadium.
