Ramen: recipe or disaster?
Kayla Strange, Staff Writer
College students live off ramen noodles. It’s known to be in their diets mostly because it’s easy to prepare and eat. Can it have weird recipes?
- Grilled Cheese Ramen Noodles
Ramen is quick and easy to make, which is why most college students make it. Although it can get boring with the packets of flavoring inside, to spice it up a bit, Hannah Archer decided to make her ramen taste like grilled cheese.
- Packet of ramen
- Melted cheese
- Breadcrumbs
Archer said, “It sounds horrible, I know, but even without the bread it tastes the same.” Grilled cheese ramen is easy to make. All you need are these three simple ingredients, and voila!
2. Macaroni and Cheese Ramen Noodles
Besides grilled cheese ramen, there is also macaroni and cheese ramen. It seems very similar because of the cheese but, it has a slight change. Kira Dalton sometimes enjoys having macaroni noodles along with the ramen. According to Dalton, “Both of the noodles taste good together, especially with the cheese.”
- Ramen packet
- Box macaroni
- Cheese from macaroni box
The way it’s made is by combining box macaroni and the ramen packet. Dalton uses the cheese from the macaroni box and uses the noodles inside.
3. Hot Chocolate Ramen Noodles
But the weirdest of all is a combination of Chikfila sauce, and chocolate milk. Sam Nathaniel likes trying new things and this recipe happened to be one of those ideas to try once. Although once he tried it, he got used to the taste of the odd combination. According to Nathaniel, “I did not like it at all but once I got used to it, it was fine.”
- Ramen packet
- Hot chocolate
- Chik-Fil-A sauce
He used hot chocolate with Chikfila sauce, and hoped it would be delicious.
