NGU’s thoughts on summer spots

The semester is quickly reaching its end, and that brings a lot of feelings. For seniors, graduation is looming. For underclassmen, it’s a much-needed break until they do it all again.
One thing that both have in common? Vacation is inevitable.
Senior sport management major Isaac Langdon is ready for his senior trip. Planning to go with his close friends to Panama City, Fla. in celebration of his brand new degree, he said:
It’s exactly what I need after trying to pass this biology class. They are going to hand me my paper on that stage, and then I’m hopping straight on a plane.
Panama City is known for its white sand beaches and clear, calm waters from the Gulf of Mexico. College students all over the country will be making Panama their vacation spot at the end of the semester.
The beginning of summer doesn’t always mean beaches and sun. Some North Greenville students’ ideas of a perfect vacation is right here in the mountains.
“I love going hiking and camping during the summer,” said freshman marketing major Garrick Hagan. “Plus, I really hate sand. I would much rather sleep on dirt than be anywhere near the sand.”
The mountains are the perfect vacation spot for any adventurous NGU students looking for a fun and cheap vacation. Locally, we have tons of state parks and campsites that would immerse you into nature.
“Paris Mountain is a great spot for hiking and camping. It’s only about thirty minutes away from campus,” Hagan said. “They have a lake for swimming and fishing, plus tons of room to bike, hike and have a picnic.”
College is hard. There’s no doubt about it. North Greenville students have spent the last three months working extremely hard and deserve a break.
Many students will have to go straight into working summer jobs, or even moving into their full-time careers. Take some time to relax before life overwhelms you.
