The latest MCU sensation to hit Tigerville was the nine-episode limited series, “Wanda Vision.”

“Wanda Vision” is the first Marvel-based content since “Spiderman: Far From Home” was released on July 2, 2019. Over a year with no Marvel entertainment left fans starving for more.

“Wanda Vision” released its first two episodes on Jan. 15, and then released a new episode every Friday until the finale aired on March 5.

During this seven-week span, all North Greenville students could talk about was Wanda Vision.

Students were having watch parties in their dorm rooms every Friday, discussing the episodes with each other on Instagram and Twitter, and talking about it during their classes.

“Wanda Vision” had completely taken over not only NGU but pop culture in general.

Garrick Hagen, freshman marketing major and huge MCU fan, was keeping up with “Wanda Vision” religiously.

“I watched every Friday with my brother and my mom the second I got home from classes,” Hagen said. “I had so many different theories and I was watching all of the YouTube videos talking about what might happen next.”

Hagen, much like most television and film fans, was dying to find out what was going to happen next.

Waiting an entire week for a new episode was an agony that many people hadn’t experienced since the rise of streaming and “binge-watching.”

Hagen wasn’t the only one filled to the brim with theories. Senior English major Jacob Hudson was keeping up each week as well.

“I really loved the show,” Hudson said. “But I would be lying if I said I was dedicated to watching for the show itself. I just wanted to make sure I could be involved in all of the conversations about it at school. Everyone was talking about all of the different theories and predictions.”

In a time where so many people feel so isolated and alone due to global events, “Wanda Vision” found a way to build a community — even inside smaller communities such as North Greenville University’s campus.

The next Marvel original show “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” had its first episode air on March 19.

With new episodes coming out each week, North Greenville can expect this show to follow “Wanda Vision’s” lead and become the talking point of the campus.
