Freddie Martino was a stand-out Wide Receiver at North Greenville University from 2010 to 2013. During his time at NGU, Martino was a four-year starter and had over 3,700 receiving yards and 26 touchdowns in his collegiate career.

After graduation, Martino was an undrafted free agent before being signed by the Atlanta Falcons of the NFL. He spent two seasons with the Falcons, making his NFL debut on Oct. 19, 2014. Freddie would make his way onto two more NFL rosters, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In his NFL career he had 13 receptions for 238 yards and 1 TD.

The former North Greenville stand out has found a new team and it is not in the NFL. The AAF, Alliance of American Football, recently began its first week of action last week. Martino originally signed with the Orlando Apollos, who are coached by Steve Spurrier, former South Carolina Gamecocks head coach, but was traded to the Arizona Hotshots on Jan. 14 of this year.

Through two games thus far, the Hotshots are 2-0. Martino will look for his first reception next week as the Hotshots hit the road to take on the Salt Lake Stallions this Saturday at 3:00 ET.
