North Greenville University’s basketball and volleyball teams did not see time off game schedule during Christmas break.

Men’s volleyball traveled to Columbus, Ohio to play Ohio State University on January 6. The Crusaders kept the score close but lost in 3 sets.

“Playing Ohio State, we found out as a team that we could hang with any opponent in the nation. Although we lost the match, we were able to take it as a great learning experience that brought the team closer,” says number 5, Dustin King.

Men’s Basketball also played multiple games over the break.  The team was victorious over Pensacola Christian College on Jan 8 with a score of 94 over 53.  The Crusaders also collected three losses to Lees-McRae College, Limestone College and University of South Carolina-Aiken.

More basketball games were played over Christmas break by the women’s team. The Crusaders played five games over the break and won three out of the five against Lees-McRae College, Converse College and Benedict College.

Senior, Makenzie Shellnutt says, “We got to spend 10 days of our Christmas break at home and the rest on campus. Being on campus with no other students has its advantages and we grow closer as a team. On the other hand, the cafateria is closed so we had to eat out every day, which got old fast.”
