NGU’s Version of ESPN3
Terry Davis, Staff Writer
North Greenville University now has its own internet sports broadcasting network, which can be found on the NGU athletics website.
Robbie Gawrys, director of sports information at NGU, said “North Greenville sports network is our version of ESPN 3”.
With that being said, this is a service that gives NGU the ability to broadcast games to the web for anyone to see. It makes NGU stand out a little more than other schools because now students have multiple ways to view the games. The sports broadcasting network is also great for friends and families because it is a way for them to view their sons, daughters, family members or friends remotely.
The goal for this network is to set NGU apart from other institutions.
Alan Kahaly, director of sports broadcasting at NGU, stated “The overall goal is to compete with other schools. The overall goal is to just attempt to provide good quality and newer angles for the viewers”.
This technology is not only opening doors for athletics, but could point to the possibility of the technology being used in the classroom. Could this open the doors to remote classrooms while still having the option to be in class physically or via the web?
Robbie Gawrys and Alan Kahaly stated that its very clear that the mission here is to provide students, staff and everyone else with the best quality, newer angles and a very convenient way to view athletic events at NGU.
