A fantastic movie review on: “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”

J.K. Rowling is far from taking a break from her beloved series, Harry Potter. As the spinoff trilogy Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them captures the American wizarding world, mythological elements from Harry Potter are incorporated as well. It came out on Nov. 18 and made $75 million in the US and $143 million overseas, a total of $218 million over the course of opening weekend.
Newt Scamander, whose name sounds like a mythical creature, is played by Eddie Redmayne. He is the main character in this film and the audience follows his journey through New York in 1926 as he collects and documents magical creatures throughout the world. He encounters a No-Maj (Muggle) named Jacob, who is played by Dan Fogler. Together, they discover hidden realms of New York, all while encountering the mythical and magical. With Scamanders Mary Poppins-like bag, he collects these creatures. However, a malfunctioning lock on his magical case allows a slew of mythical creature to escape. How will Scamander and Fogler save both the magical and No-Maj worlds?
Other actors involved in this movie are Katherine Waterston as Porpentina, Colin Farrell as Percival and Ezra Miller as Credence. Together, this smashing cast helps bring both the wizarding world and human world to life. This movie was directed by David Yates, who is also responsible for directing the Harry Potter movies.
This movie is for those who love Harry Potter and all that the movies encompass. It holds your attention throughout the film and incorporates plenty of twists and turns. It is the perfect balance of science fiction and fantasy and never really leaves room to get you bored. Needless to say, there is already a sequel film being produced and will be released Nov. 16 in 2018. Stay tuned.
