Lets make history: Cubs look to end 108 year drought

108 years of struggle haunt the Chicago Cubs organization, and a feeling of being “cursed” hangs over the city of Chicago.
The Cubs haven’t won a World Series title since 1908 after winning back-to-back titles in 1907 and 1908. The Cubs’ luck soon ran out as Chicago reached the World Series seven more times from 1910-1945 and went go on to lose in all seven.
Decade after decade of down and out seasons the “Cubs’ Curse” seem ever so real as the city of Chicago championship dreams seemed to become something of a myth. The city of Chicago is known for its die hard fan base, some of the most loyal fans in all of sports.
“This city deserves a championship, its what they need” says Chicago native and ESPN analyst Michael Wiburn.
In 2015 the Cubs started their rebuilding process with the hiring of Manager Joe Maddon; a World Series winner and three-time manager-of-the-year award winner. It didn’t take long for Maddon’s winning ways to rub off on the team, in his first year taking them to the postseason.
Chicago’s patience has finally paid off, after over 100 years the Cubs are back in the World Series with a chance to take the title back to the “Windy City”. The Cubs are now facing off against the Cleveland Indians in the championship series.
