Winter Jam Comes to Greenville
Carson Myers, Staff Writer
This Saturday, Feb. 12, 2016, a concert featuring Christian artists, musicians and poets is coming to the Bon Secours Wellness Arena. This event, Winter Jam, is celebrating its 16th year and it is the largest annual Christian concert in the world.
People who will attend the concert will get to hear the latest music from bands like For King and Country, David Crowder and Newsong. KD, Tedashii and Trip Lee will perform rap and spoken word. Concertgoers will also get to hear the preaching and teaching of Tony Nolan, founder of TNT ministries. Tony Nolan has been a long-time supporter of North Greenville University.
For just $10, students can buy admission to the concert. JAM NATION memberships are also available. These memberships allow people to have special access to the venues, performers and retailers. The prices for JAM NATION memberships range from $32.99 for groups of ten or more to $49.99 for individuals.
NGU alumni Jim Smith went to Winter Jam several times and has fond memories of it.
“The atmosphere is very upbeat,” said Smith. “Winter Jam is geared towards youth, but it is still fun for college students and adults.”
“There’s something for everyone,” he added.
If you are looking for a great time filled with positivity and a Christ-centered message, head to the Bon Secours Wellness Arena this Saturday. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 6:45 p.m. The event is very popular, so be sure to depart early so that you can find a parking place.
