Trump may be celebrating his 100th day in office with a government shutdown.
Although �sanctuary cities� is a term understood by some, there are many who simply do not get what is meant by the increasingly popular phrase. Before we can adequately understand what all being a sanctuary city entails, we must first understand what a sanctuary city is.
Positions taken by the news outlets covering the travel ban, have been broadly and decidedly critical of the executive order, accusing the commander-in-chief of racially profiling countries based on their large Muslim populations or their religious affiliations. However, the executive order issued by President Trump is neither unprecedented, racist or unreasonable.
While terrorists arguably converge upon American property through various means and methods of transportation, there is an outstanding history of violence from those that board airplanes, i.e., the attacks on 9/11. Amidst continued attacks worldwide and on American citizens specifically, including the Boston bombings, the attack on Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, etc. etc., it is crucial that the Trump administration address the very real national security concerns these undocumented immigrants and refugees pose.

On Friday, January 20, 2017, Donald J. Trump was sworn in to office as the 45th President of the United States of America. Standing next to former presidents, cabinet members, senate and congressional figureheads and even his former political rival, Hillary Clinton, President Trump looked past the lights and the cameras of the mass media and spoke directly to those in attendance of change, action and the desire to put America back on track.
Although it�s obvious that not all Americans are pleased by the decisive electoral college victory of Republican nominee, Donald Trump, it has always been customary for both domestic and foreign heads of state to congratulate the victory of incoming president or prime minister elect�s. Trump may have alienated certain people groups and nations during his campaign, but respect has been given on a global scale, out of respect for the office in which he will soon reside.
