Humans of NGU: Hannah Price
Grace Myers, Contributing Writer
Standing at only five feet tall with strawberry blonde hair and glasses, senior psychology major Hannah Price appears less than intimidating. However, do not be deceived by looks. Price has a second-degree black belt in Taekwondo and once upon a time kicked butt.
She began taking lessons in middle school and continued her training until she was diagnosed with exercise-induced asthma her freshman year of high school. During her active years, Price enjoyed competing as part of the American Taekwondo Association, often beating her opponents with a series of roundhouse kicks which she was able to perform due to her flexibility.
Price says while she started with the sport because she thought it was cool, it now provides a sense of safety for her as college student, enabling her to defend herself if necessary.
