Humans of NGU: Autumn Lowry

Autumn Lowry is a traveler, a world traveler. She has traveled to 17 states and five countries. Autumn’s love for traveling came after her parents decided to homeschool her in the 8th grade. This decision allowed her family to take small field trips to places like Jamestown, VA, places in Georgia or up to Ohio, where some of her family lived.
She has been to Romania, Dubai, India and her favorite, Haiti. In 2012, Autumn went back to Haiti on a mission trip with many of her youth friends. Haiti was her favorite trip because “we were 14 and 15 getting to go to another country without our parents and getting to serve,” Autumn said.
Autumn understands how difficult it is to travel while being in college. However, her advice is “pick a destination, try to pay for things in advance as much as you can so it doesn’t feel like it is that overwhelming.”
Autumn’s goal for the next five years is to travel to all 50 states.
