Daniel Burchette is one of the many student-athletes representing North Greenville University on the basketball court. Burchette is a senior who plays for our basketball team as a shooting guard. Burchette is a veteran of the sport, having been playing since he was in first grade. He also played baseball, but he enjoys playing basketball more which is why he pursued it instead.

He particularly enjoys competition in general and the winning that comes with it. Burchette also enjoys putting his talent on display, as he’s “invested a lot of time and hard work into being the best player [he] can be.” Overall, he believes that going out onto the court and being the best that he can be is the best part about playing the sport of basketball.

Burchette has particularly enjoyed playing basketball at NGU, for a variety of reasons. He has been on the basketball team for four years while attending NGU, and he has enjoyed “building up friendships with the coaches, players, trainers, and just everyone else involved in the athletics department.”

Burchette chose to attend NGU because of the interest that the showed in him, which was much more impressive than the other schools he had been looking at. He also said that NGU was relatively close to his house, only being around an hour away, which he likes. While he does not plan on pursuing basketball after college, he says that he has other goals and aspirations that he is striving to achieve.

While Burchette has chosen not to pursue the sport after college, he has certainly enjoyed his time playing it, whether it was playing at NGU or even back when he was in first grade. He has enjoyed forming relationships with those involved in the sport at NGU, as well as the competition that comes with a highly competitive sport like basketball. Burchette is just one of the many great student-athletes that make up the student body of North Greenville University.
