HANNAH HURST, THE VISION MAGAZINE EDITOR-IN-CHIEF

The Department of Modern Languages and Linguistics, NGU’s chapter of Sigma Delta Pi (the national Spanish honor society) and the Office of Student Life sponsored an event called “The World Culture Race” on October 26, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 p.m.

The Race will be an event similar to the CBS TV program, “The Amazing Race.” Participants will have to complete challenges that are representative of the cultures and languages that are taught at NGU: Spanish, French, ASL and German. Participants will work with a partner and each challenge will be worth a certain number of points. The winning participants will receive a cash prize. All participants will sign a waiver before participating.

The entrance fee is $15 per participant, $30 per team. The money will cover the t-shirts that all participants will wear to promote the event, the costs for the supplies needed for the challenges, and the prize money that the winners will receive. Any profits will be used to start a fund to help students who would like to study abroad.
