Have you ever had an authentic quiet where a verse that you’ve never noticed before just draws you in? The book of Psalms is filled with beautiful, knitted and firm promises that the Lord showers His children with. Followers of Christ across the world are reminded of verses like John 3:16 which says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave His one and only son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (ESV)
We may know John 3:16 and Romans 12:2 as verses that are overused and placed on coffee cups if fancy handwriting, but what about verses that aren’t as commonly used?
These beautiful nuggets of truth are all throughout scripture that followers of Christ may not even notice. These verses speak about the wonderful creation that was created by our gracious Father, how deep His love is for those who proclaim Him and the importance of going out and proclaiming the gospel to the ends of the earth.
Here are some hidden treasures in the Bible that sometimes may go unnoticed.
Isaiah 46:4 (ESV)
“Even to your old age I am he, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save.”
This verse is a significant promise that the Lord will sustain His children until we are called to be with Him for eternity. The Lord is our light and our salvation and Psalms 27 reminds us that we should not fear or be afraid.
Ezekiel 34: 15-17 (ESV)
“I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep and I myself will make them lie down, declares the Lord God. I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the injured and I will strengthen the weak..”
This nugget of scripture reminds us that the Lord is constantly present. When we are going through trials and hardships the Lord promises us to be strengthened. He has given us a new found hope that will never run dry because the Lord’s love for His children exceeds all limits.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 (ESV)
“He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he can not find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.”
This verse represents the beauty in having faith in our Lord. The Lord’s time is precious and perfect and so often believers have this mindset of thinking that our plans are better for us than the plan that was ultimately chosen for us before the beginning of time. The plan that was carefully orchestrated and ultimately woven in us in our mother’s womb by our precious Father is perfect.
