Inspiration to end the semester strong
Adam Kelly, Assistant Editor
As the semester is winding down, it becomes increasingly difficult for students to stay focused on their studies when it’s easier to throw caution to the wind and hope for the best. When scholarships and financial aid are on the line though, it becomes a little more important to maintain that GPA and make good grades.
Students have an equal opportunity to excel in school, it just takes motivation and drive. Both of these concepts can be missing, which results in minimal work being produced. It is not uncommon for college students to lack the motivation to get work done. They just need inspiration and ideas to cultivate it.
The end of the year is getting closer, but your desire to work is getting lower. Read these uplifting quotes to get you through the end of the semester.
“It always seems impossible until it is done.” – Nelson Mandela
The most difficult part of work is starting it. When you do though, the road to completion becomes much easier. Once a momentum is found, work gets a lot easier and the motivation to finish grows. All you have to do to find this is to start.
“Let me tell you the secret that has led me to my goals: my strength lies solely in my tenacity.” – Louis Pasteur
Having the perseverance and determination to reach your goals and finish your work makes school a lot easier. We have the habit of starting our work and putting it off until later. The momentum can drop at this point, and it’s much harder to continue it. Standing firm in your work and pushing on shows a lot about a person’s work ethic. It helps to have a short break every once in a while though.
“The roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet.” – Aristotle
We may not like how or why things work when it comes to learning, but working with it to produce something great makes it worth the effort. People have motivation to get things done when they know that the end result will be great.
“Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow.” – Anthony J. D’Angelo
This can be difficult, especially when you’re taking a class that is required but nor particularly your favorite subject. D’Angelo is speaking on broad terms though. If you can get something educational out of a lesson that you don’t like, you will continue to grow and become more willing to learn subjects that are harder to grasp.
“It is impossible for a man to learn what he thinks he already knows” – Epictetus
The Greek philosopher’s words still resonate within people today. If you’re not learning anything new in class, you’re not learning anything at all. It’s already difficult when you don’t feel like you’re learning anything. Take lectures in doses if the information is too much, and bold any notes you didn’t know previously.
Hopefully, these quotes give you some inspiration to finish the semester strong. There are not regrets left on the field if you tried your best. If you’re in search of a bigger push, Pinterest has all of your motivational needs.
