North Greenville’s Fishing Club is fishing with the big boys
Travis Willmann, Assistant Editor
Are you an avid fisherman? Are you a beginner? North Greenville’s Fishing Club is the place for you if you are looking for a fun environment to meet new people and, of course, go fishing. North Greenville’s Fishing Club is comprised of more than 20 members that fish in tournaments and hang out to talk about their greatest fish stories.
The last tournament that the fishing club was a part of was on Lake Hartwell. Clemson hosted the event that had teams from all around the state. Josh Bradly, a founding member of the club at North Greenville said, “It was a fun experience, especially since we did so well.”
Cody Shoars, the president of North Greenville’s Fishing Club said, “We have multiple top 10 finishes in tournaments fishing against schools such as Clemson, Presbyterian, Lander, Georgia, Greenville Tech, Western Carolina, USC upstate and more.
Bradly said, “It is fun getting together with people that have the same interests as you and doing something you love.”
Weigh-ins for the Bass Master classic are being held at Bon Secours Wellness Arena and the fishing club has the opportunity to work the event and meet some of the best fishermen this country has to offer.
The fishing club is open to all that want to join. The only thing that is required is that you have a fishing pole and the ability to have fun.
Shoars said, “members get discounts from multiple tackle suppliers and other people like Garmin.”
The club has access to necessary equipment such as a fishing boat and would love to have your participation.
Since the fishing club at North Greenville is still in its infancy, they are looking for new members to join and grow the club. With more members, they will be able to attend more tournaments, have more fun and fish more.
Everyone is welcomed, and it does not matter how experienced you are at fishing
Most tournaments that the club will attend are Bass tournaments, but the club will allow fishermen and women to find people who love to fish for all kinds of species of fish.
