Life-Shaping Scholarship Opportunity: Are You In?
Abigail Dickerson, Staff Writer
An issue college students across the country are facing more today than ever before is student debt. The reality is that many people will not have the opportunity to attend a university without experiencing debt.
North Greenville University has made it a priority to help students succeed academically as well as financially. One of the ways they are able to do this is through a variety of scholarship opportunities. Honors students are encouraged to take part in this year’s new opportunity, the Lifeshape scholarship.
North Greenville University is working to offer a new scholarship, funded by gracious donors, in order to help academically high-achieving students graduate debt-free. The Lifeshape Scholarship was created to assist those who are reaching above and beyond their academic expectations.
Students who qualify will attend the NGU Scholar’s Weekend where they will compete for the scholarship against other high-achieving individuals. This is an incredible opportunity for young scholars to take part in to help further their academic careers.
The Lifeshape Scholarship includes fully covered costs for all four years at NGU, as well as other academic opportunities for its recipients. It is a goal of the college to help students graduate with little to no debt. Students who receive the scholarship will participate in North Greenville University’s honors program alongside their classmates.
While students of all majors are eligible for the scholarship, it is foremost for students studying political science, English, language, history and ministry.
In order to be included in the scholars weekend, the student must have a grade point average of 3.7 unweighted GPA or an SAT score of 1320. While this may seem challenging to some, these criteria help to assure that the students who are succeeding academically are able to further their education. If a student is awarded the Lifeshape scholarship, they will engage in university public, be involved with the honors program and maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The deadline to apply will be Oct. 30, 2021.
Students are encouraged to take part in this opportunity alongside their fellow scholars for the opportunity to be awarded the full cost of tuition. North Greenville University looks forward to seeing who the 2021 Lifeshape scholarship recipients are.
