Did you see the sign? American Sign Language videos by Brandon Heath
Sarah Wetherbie, Staff Writer
On October 19, Brandon Heath released his new album “FAITH HOPE LOVE REPEAT.” The album features a duet with Tauren Wells and a song about his upcoming adventure of being a father. In addition to this, Heath released American Sign Language (ASL) videos for all the songs on the album.
By doing this, Heath put himself into the music history books. He is the first hearing musician to create American Sign Language translation videos for a whole album. There have been a few secular musicians such as Sia, Paul McCartney and Ed Sheeran who have included sign language in their music videos, but not to the extent Heath did.
Heath got the inspiration for the videos from a fan, Ian Myers, who sent Heath an email with a video of himself signing Heath’s song “Give Me Your Eyes”. For the full story, click here.
