North Greenville Men’s Soccer prevails against King University

North Greenville’s Men’s Soccer beat King University on Saturday to earn its first conference game since 2013. North Greenville scored one goal on Saturday and that is all they needed for the win on King University. The goal was scored by Gareth Greene in the 20th minute of the first half.

North Greenville Football upsets 16th ranked Albany State University

Also on Saturday, the North Greenville football team traveled to Albany Ga. to face the Golden Rams of Albany State University.  Ranked 16th in the nation, ASU came into the game with a 2-0 record. However, after a hard-fought match, North Greenville would prevail 35-27, upsetting the previously ranked Golden Rams.

Lasting effects of Hurricane Irma

As Hurricane Irma bore down on the Tigerville area, many did not know how badly North Greenville University would be affected. However, after 24 hours of hard wind and rain, North Greenville only saw minor damage and it only lost power in a couple of areas of the campus.

In recent tragic events, Georgia Tech has experienced a heartbreaking event. A campus police officer was forced to shoot a student who was holding a knife and would not comply with the officer. Unfortunately, the student passed away on September 17, 2017.

Wisconsin Man vs. Recycling Bin

In other news, a Wisconsin man tried to run from cops by hiding in a garbage can. The man would have gotten away, but a garbage collector came along and picked him up, dumping him and the contents into the back of the garbage collection truck. The garbage collector heard screaming from the back of the truck and contacted police. The man was arrested.

Dozens arrested in St. Louis  

Protests continue in St. Louis after a police officer was acquitted of shooting an African American man. Dozens were arrested as peaceful protests turned violent on Saturday, Sept. 16. Protesters started throwing rocks into windows and throwing objects at police.

Terror in London

On Sept. 15, 2017, a London train station was blown up by Islamic Terrorists claiming to be a part of ISIS. Injuring at least 20 people, this is the third attack in London in recent months. Many are looking to world leaders to see what can be done about these terrorist attacks.
