No more excuses; The clinic is closed

No more opportunities for random excuses for students to miss class. The Tuttle Clinic at North Greenville University has closed its doors, and students now must explore other options for healthcare if they are looking for a doctor’s note.
The Tuttle Clinic used to offer examinations and treatment rooms for students if they were sick. However, student services feels as if other options might now be the best choice. “Right now, we looked at how to get the best use of our money, and we looked at the use of the clinic and not a whole lot of people are using it. We’re looking at other options for the clinic in the future,” said Billy Watson, assistant vice president of student services.
If you’re looking to see a doctor, there are other easy and fast options to get the job done. The CVS Minute Clinic offers a doctor quickly, and without an appointment. Students can go there for more minor health issues, like a cold. For more urgent health issues, students can visit the AFC Urgent Care Center by Bon Secours in Greer.
Student services does provide transportation for students to be able to go to these places as needed, and can help students determine which place they should go to. There is also an EMRT team available on campus that works with the Tigerville Fire Department which can help assess and treat injuries. Student services also still holds all medical records that were once housed in the clinic for reference.
