Enrollment on the rise: What brings students to North Greenville?

Enrollment at North Greenville University has broken the record again with 734 new students for the fall of 2014.
With another record-breaking enrollment this fall, the question has been raised as to why more and more freshmen are choosing NGU. “I wanted a Christian environment while I was in college,” said freshman Jessi Lee.
The values established at North Greenville were the first thing she decided she liked about the school.

Many students said they feel safe in a place that encompasses their beliefs and encourages them to grow in their Christian walk. There are many opportunities for students to get involved, , such as Baptist Student Union (BSU), intramural sports.
Some students at NGU say they don’t have to feel alone in their faith, because brothers and sisters in Christ surround them.
Many incoming freshmen have had family members go to North Greenville, so they already felt comfortable with the thought of going there.
“My brother graduated from North Greenville, so I knew a lot about the school from him,” said freshman Chantel Brown. Students said the family atmosphere is comforting to those who are venturing away from home for the first time.
“The size of the school is small,” said freshman Evan Neas, “so there is more one-on-one time with teachers.”
North Greenville is filled with a faculty of Christians as well. The teachers not only care about how a student is doing in their class, but also about their students’ spiritual wellbeing.
Jimmy Epting, president of the school, has had a significant impact on the atmosphere at NGU. Under his direction, North Greenville has become like a family to many of the students on campus and has been the launching pad for many students’ walk with Christ.
Regardless of the reasons, the class of 2018 has broken the enrollment record, and North Greenville University welcomes all the new freshmen to the Crusader family.
