Students at North Greenville University had the opportunity to explore ministry opportunities at the ministry career fair which brough nearly 20 organizations to campus. The event connected students with internships, part-time roles and full-time ministry positions across a wide range of ministry settings.
Representatives from local churches, ministries and nonprofit organizations set up booths to meet students interested in youth ministry, nonprofit and general ministry roles. For many students, the fair served as a networking opportunity and a place to discern their next steps after NGU.
This event emphasized relationship and conversation over the typical resume discussion. Ministry leaders shared not only the job description, but also the ways these opportunities could grow student’s character and walk with God.
Among the many ministries present, several stood out for the unique ways they serve the community and create opportunities for NGU students.
Connie Maxwell Children Ministries is a nonprofit organization that offers support for children in unsafe situations. It seeks to provide safe, nurturing environments where children can thrive emotionally, physically and spiritually as they build resilience and faith.
Currently, Connie Maxwell is seeking to fill many job positions. These positions include a Marketing Specialist, a Family Care Peer Support Specialist, a Family Care Service Coordinator and a Grounds Technician.
Similarly, Rize Prevention is a nonprofit organization with a purpose to tackle the issue of drug addiction among young teens and their families across the upstate. It focuses on inspiring and empowering students to resist drug use while encouraging healthy lifestyle choices and providing encouragement and opportunity.
Rize Prevention is looking for college students willing to go into schools and build relationships with students. This looks like eating lunch with the child, encouraging them and recognizing signs of substance use. By doing this, NGU students have a chance to sacrifice their time and pour into a child.
Many churches attended the ministry fair looking for students particularly interested in media ministry and youth ministry.
