New and improved: what’s on the agenda for the donnan building

We have all been patiently waiting for something to happen with the Donnan building and the time has finally come. So, what should we expect?
Arriving early 2024, the donnan/COBE project will come to a halt with final touches and will be open to the university again. Currently, the construction team is in the demolition phase but is on schedule. As some may have noticed, the building is not being completely torn down. It has a good foundation, so most will be preserved except the inside walls.
The mural that was originally on the outside of donnan will be moved to the inside in the new process to mark its stamp of history of the building. It will be located right at the entrance when you walk in the front side.
The newly renovated space is said to have around six classrooms just as the old building, but ample amounts of space for offices. The plan is to have a big enough space for professors and faculty in Donnan.
Downstairs will have four classrooms and offices along with the areas for hanging out. Upstairs will have one classroom and a conference room that could be used for a small class. It will also have more offices, this will be where the president is located specifically. “Neves is a representation of the look we are going for,” Watson said.
This new renovation is helping the students by providing us another place to study or even catch up with friends. “It will be an intentional small group hang out,” Watson said. With our growing numbers, we are very limited as to where we could freely get together to hang out, get a coffee to chat or even sit down and do homework together.
It will be a new and improved space for the students, and especially for the team here at North Greenville University (NGU). As we are growing, space is vital for a successful learning environment. Without having donnan, we have seen how hectic things could get with scheduling class times and not having that area for faculty and for class.
Currently, President Gene Fant is located in the duplex along with his secretary and team, but in the coming of the donnan?COBE project, he will be moving back. The business department will also be moving into donnan. Human resources was also located here before the renovation, they are now located in Neves with NGU central and will stay there.
This newly transformed building benefits both students and faculty here at NGU. There will be multiple areas for specific faculty to have an official office like before and students will have those spots for connecting and taking their quiet time with homework. Having this environment will boost the areas that benefit the students and the office space that benefits the faculty.
