Calling all NGU’s music junkies- Check out the hottest new music dropped this week

Music releasing has been a hot topic on campus, especially as of recently. From Taylor Swift’s new album dropping, to Carly Rae Jepsen coming out with music again, to Beyonce’s new tour announcement…it’s hard to keep up. New music helps keep all of us on our toes, and it can help distract us from the stress from our classes.

1. Taylor Swift: It’s hard to talk about music without talking about this mainstream blondie. If you’ve been living under a rock, I’ll recap. She dropped her newest album, called, “Midnights”. This album features Lana Del Ray and this has single-handedly broke the internet on its own. People love to see big stars work together. And this album is all the internet is talking about. Just like her other works, it broke the Modern-Era Vinyl Sales Record. This pop-star has brought the popularity of vinyl records back and broke the record of being sold out in stores everywhere the day it released. This album also broke Spotify’s record of most streamed album in a single day. Those Swifties are crazy.
2. Carly Rae Jepsen: You may know her as the “Call Me Maybe” girl. Some people refer to her as a one hit wonder. But after a break from music, she has dropped some a new album. And although it didn’t break any world records as Taylor Swift, it was smart of her to release on the same day when everyone is talking about music. Her new album is called, “The Loneliest Time”. This is assumed to be written about her previous breakup and it got people talking about her again. I smell a comeback in the works.
3. Beyonce: It’s true; the queen B has announced a new tour for next summer for her newest album “Renaissance”. This album, like all of her others have so many people talking and has gone viral in the media. Especially on TikTok as people come up with dances to her new upbeat, dance lyrics. She released the album earlier this year, but the announcement of her new tour has people going crazy to get tickets to see her do what she’s known for best: performing.
4. Louis Tomlinson: Louis has released an album called, “Faith in the Future” and anything he, or any of the other former One Direction singers release will be on the Billboard Top Hits as the former band members have all went on with their solo career…the One Direction branding on them, will never go away. His new album was his second ever album to release on his own as a solo artist and he seems to be doing pretty well…headed in the right direction, I think.
5. Bruce Springsteen: The man, myth, and legend has returned with a new album called, “Only the Strong Survive”. He is an American Rock musician and has been in the music industry for over 30 years now. He used to sing in the “E-Street Band” and he went on to carry out his career as a solo artist, catching him a spot as a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Any album he releases is a big deal to all of his loyal fans he’s had for over three decades, but this might be more significant because people are speculating his retirement soon.
