On April 23, North Greenville University held its annual Poetry Night. During this event, students perform anything from reading poetry and essays to singing songs they have written. This year, the students were joined by alumni from past poetry nights who performed songs and read from books they had written.  The event also provided students with coffee from a local roaster and pastries to enjoy while they watched their fellow students.

NGU alumnus Kason Holloway returns to campus to perform at poetry night once again.

The event offered coffee from the local coffee shop, Bridge City, as well as a variety of pastries.

NGU alumni and Coffee Roaster for Bridge City, Brandon Nelson, recites his poetry.

Students enjoy listening to the wide variety of songs, poems, and even some comedy throughout the evening.

The “Poetry Night Band” performs a couple of songs.

NGU alumni and graduate student Logan Stewart introduces the improv team, Required Chaos.

Abigail Thompson, a sophomore Strategic Communications major, performs an original song, “The Woman at the Well,” based on the bible story.

The student-led magazine, The Mountain Laurel, had a table at the event selling copies to the students.

Kara Trapnell, junior English major, reads the poems she wrote for a poetry class on campus.
