Fling into spring: NGU’s week of fun to shake off post-break blues

Treasure Hardwick, Staff Writer

As students return from spring break, the transition back into classes may feel overwhelming. While the sun is shining and the flowers are blooming, assignments are piling up, leaving students eager for a time to relax and enjoy some fun.

Embre Todd, a junior business marketing major at NGU, shared her mixed feelings coming back after break. She explained that she is excited to be back with her friends, but she is also overwhelmed with assignments. After spending her break on a mission trip, she’s also feeling the effects of jetlag.

Similarly, Allisondra Phipps, a junior health science major, explained that she feels stressed by her workload. She explained that after break, assignments seem to be the heaviest, and the transition back is challenging. But she is excited to be back with her friends and enjoying the sunshine.

For Caleb Krupczyk, a junior psychology major, the post-break burnout is real. He explained that he feels exhausted, and that he is excited for a fresh semester in the fall.

The common denominator among these students is a desire to slow down and have fun. Fortunately, Spring Fling is right around the corner. Organized by Campus Ministries and Student Engagement (CMSE), this week of festivities is designed to help students enjoy the spring weather, take a break from studying and enjoy community.

Lelani Nelson, the student coordinator at NGU, explained that the purpose behind the events is to show appreciation to students and allow them to meet more people and enjoy a fun week at NGU.

With daily events planned, Spring Fling offers something for every student.
