As the women’s lacrosse season gets underway at North Greenville University (NGU), the team is looking forward to a season full of opportunity, camaraderie and success.

Under the direction of coach Sydney Taylor and the competitive leadership of senior defender Danielle LaPlume, the women’s lacrosse team has been training hard for a challenging and successful season ahead.

Taylor, in her third year of coaching the team, brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of the game. As a former player herself, she has faced several challenges in her transition from player to coach.

Having to deal with the dynamics of coaching her former teammates, Taylor brought out her best coaching qualities, having to apply a healthy balance of authority and camaraderie.

Despite this, Taylor’s deep-rooted connection to her former teammates and to the university, she is honored to represent gave her a solid foundation on which to build a competitive team worthy of a championship.

Highlighting confidence, unity and a common purpose, Taylor has instilled a spirit of excellence and a hunger to win among the players. Among these is a player who has been very important to the collective contribution of the team, LaPlume.

LaPlume is a senior defender who is the perfect demonstration of the grit and determination that describe the lacrosse team’s play. With a background in soccer, LaPlume came to lacrosse driven by a curiosity for a new sport and a hunger for new challenges.

Convinced by a good offer and the opportunity to have a good Christian community, LaPlume found her place on the team. She is becoming not only the leader that she is, but one of the best players in the entire program.

In her senior year, she is fully determined to make a difference by leaving a legacy on and off the court. She aspires to compete in as many championships as possible and to make it to the national championship by being a great help to her teammates and coach.

In the course of this season of aspirations and great challenges, this team is a demonstration of what a good team can achieve in the pursuit of greatness. With every goal, every assist and every effort they make, they are writing the next chapter of their history: “NGU Women’s Lacrosse Regional Champions.”

In the heart of the university, among the fans and the coaching staff. The team is ready to make its mark on the field. With unwavering courage and indestructible determination, women’s lacrosse plans to make it a season to remember.

The message from the players and coaching staff is clear: “Come out and support us, and we will certainly give you good times and lots of joy,” said Taylor.
