UPDATE: The new COBE building is open for business

Caroline McNeely, Visual Arts Editor

After a quick renovation, the College of Business and Entrepreneurship (COBE) is once again open for business. The new Robert W. Plaster Free Enterprise building is up and running for the 2024 spring semester.

As occupants enter the front of the building, they will encounter the original mural that remained on the outside of the original Donnan Administration building before renovation. Now, the mural is displayed in the downstairs lobby of the building with comfortable seating and bright natural light from the large windows.

Collaboration rooms are available on the downstairs level for students to occupy for study groups or for faculty to use as meeting spaces.

Need to grab a coffee in between classes? The new Plaster building offers a coffee bar for students to grab a cup on-the-go or to stay around and study.

Selah Chambers, junior psychology major, and Mark Hall, senior interdisciplinary studies major, enjoy the new study spaces that are offered in the downstairs lobby of the Plaster building. The lobby offers many comfortable chairs for students to take a break or get some work done.

Students are always looking for a good study spot, and the new Plaster building offers just that. Come in and stay awhile and enjoy the new furniture Plaster has to offer.

Plaster is designed to welcome guests with a warm welcome and allow a comfortable environment to set the tone. Students have the opportunity to use the seating in Plaster throughout the day as well.

Audra Leverson, senior marketing major, finds a quiet spot in the upstairs lobby that overlooks the heart of campus with the mountains the distance. The new Plaster building’s natural light and large windows allow for a bright, open space for visitors.

Many business classes have changed locations to Plaster, and are enjoying the high-technology boards, comfortable and nice seating. Classes have large windows for passersby to see.
