Ministry teams are a huge portion of how NGU reaches people all across the southern states. Joyful Sound is one of three ministry teams and this is what a weekend looks like for them.

There are two teams within JS and each of them sings at different churches almost every weekend. Each team has six singers and one sound engineer. The team leaders are currently Sophomore Elementary Education Major Lauren Fisher and Senior Worship Studies Major Caden Brannen. This weekend there was an opportunity to see Fisher’s team in action.

Joyful Sound focuses on using their God-given talents to bring joy and God’s message to as many people as they can.

Joyful sound members receive a scholarship for going out and ministering to the surrounding states. Sophomore Psychology Major Suzie Rhodes says, “The true blessing of being on JS is being able to go out and glorify God with my talents. To be honest I applied without even knowing there was a scholarship.”

Being on JS means a lot of time back and forth on buses. JS is a ministry that NGU pours a lot into and it was a great time being able to see them in action.
