Season summary of NGU sports

Football:

The North Greenville University football team had a peculiar season with a 5-5 record. Under the direction of coach Farrington, the team had an excellent performance at home with a record of three wins and one loss, which made for an exciting season for the university’s students who are the majority at home. Quarterback Dylan Ramirez had an outstanding season throwing for 2258 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Men’s Soccer:

Men’s Soccer had a season to forget, finishing with a record of 4 wins 8 losses, and 4 ties. Despite the poor results and the failure to qualify for the playoffs, Renan Macuglia was again the leading scorer of the season for NGU. The season, despite not being the best, had some outstanding games like the 5-0 win over Erskin University in favor of NGU.

Women’s Soccer:

The NGU women’s soccer team had an incredible season with a tragic ending. The team finished with a record of 11 wins, 5 losses, and 2 ties. The coach, Andy Robinson, demonstrated his experience by showing excellent play with determination. Despite this, the season was looking for more after losing in the quarterfinals to Francis Marion 0-1.

Men’s Cross Country:

The men’s Cross-Country team had an impressive, strong showing at the regional tournament with a sixth-place finish. Under the leadership of coach Stobber, the runners demonstrated endurance and hard work, finishing high in several competitions. Senior Hayden Goode once again made his mark by setting a record as the fastest 10k runner in history.

Women’s Cross Country:

The cross-country team runners also had an outstanding season, having one of the best seasons in the history of the program. with an 11th place finish, recorded an overall of 24:13. This resulted in three runners being All-Conference in the region. Stober exalted how proud he is of this season, demonstrating his hard work and dedication.

Golf:

The NGU golf team on the women’s side, as well as the men’s, experienced a consistent season. Facing strong competition in every tournament they faced. Under coach Bud Tate, the golfers showed consistency in their game, achieving respectable results in several key competitions. Despite not standing out with outstanding victories such as first-place finishes, the team demonstrated steady progress and improved technical skills in different tournaments.
