Oh the places you can go: fun spots to visit with friends

Whether you are a coffee-lover or a book-lover, there is a place for you near campus. Check out these seven places you can visit this semester.

Bridge City Coffee is located in downtown Traveler’s Rest, South Carolina (TR).

Corban Wood, junior business marketing major at North Greenville University (NGU), and Meg George, freshman digital media major, take a break between classes with a latte in hand at one of their favorite spots: Bridge City Coffee.

Take a walk, visit a festival or throw a football or frisbee in the large grass field located right outside of downtown Greer at Greer City Park. Greer City Park hosts a Renaissance Fair in early September that attracts large crowds. Keep a look out for fun and upcoming events in Greer this semester.

Frozen custard, anyone? Abbot’s Frozen Custard is in the heart of downtown Greer with the best small-town feel and plenty of seating for a group of friends.

Abbot’s Frozen Custard offers many different flavors of ice cream. It is located across the street from Barista Alley in downtown Greer.

Kara Patterson, junior secondary education major, and Trinity Adams, junior digital media major, explore the best trail in town: the Swamp Rabbit Trail. You can access the trail throughout downtown TR.

As the Page Turns, in downtown TR, is the best place to find a book at a lower price. Not only that, but bring a friend, relax and read a while.

Looking for a new coffee shop and a quiet place to study with friends? Flying Fox Coffee could be just the place. It is in Cartwright Hall in downtown Greer that has a handful of restaurant options right next to it. Upstairs, they have plenty of seating and tables to eat with friends or escape for a secluded place to get work done.

It’s apple-picking season but pick your apple orchard wisely. Sky Top Orchard allows you to pick apples, buy a bag of apples, buy doughnuts, apple cider, shoot apples out of a canon, explore a bamboo forest and more. Sky Top is located in Henderson County, North Carolina.
