Help wanted: Job opportunities right here in Tigerville

Summer is right around the corner, and if you have not made any plans yet, then working on campus could be put in some work opportunity.
There are many openings available for students to work during the months of May, June and July.
For those interested in working in May, there are six positions available. It starts May 8 and continues through May 26.
The primary job will be residence hall maintenance. Employees will move furniture from resident halls to storage, repair blinds on windows as well as any other minor things that may need fixing in the residence halls.
Employees will also be expected to help with classroom maintenance, moving desks in classrooms and tables, among other furniture, into storage. They may also be assigned to various projects from Campus Operations.
There are physical qualifications for the job, as employees must be able to move heavy objects, use heavy tools in demolition and have basic knowledge of working with tools for maintenance.
According to an email sent by Billy Watson earlier this semester, employees will be compensated at $10 per hour for 20 hours per week for four weeks. Workers will also be provided with free housing on campus for the month of May.
The job will be 5 days a week, generally spanning from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.
The second job opportunity will be available for the months of June and July as camp support staff.
Similar to the previous job, employees will help with campus maintenance. They will be required to move furniture, assist with maintenance projects when needed and move cots for camps.
For camp, workers will help the camp staff with various projects. Some may run the check in booth, set up and take down recreation activities, monitor the recreation areas and anything else the camp staff may need help with.
For this job, workers will also need to be able to lift heavy objects and have a basic knowledge of the use of tools. Additionally, according to Watson, workers must be proficient in computer programs like Microsoft word, excel, adobe and other programs.
Workers will be compensated $250 a week with on campus room and board included. Schedules may vary between worker because of the various tasks that may be assigned, but all staff will work for nine weeks beginning on May 30.
Any student interested in working on campus for the May work crew or summer camp staff will have to go to the office of Tigerville Operations, which can be found across from campus security.
