MOOve out the way, there is a Dollar General coming to town

The cows are out and a new Dollar General is in.
In winter of 2023 a new Dollar General is coming to the NGU community right across the street at 2720 Highway 414 in Tigerville, South Carolina.
The space is currently occupied by the a local cow pasture. The field has been reworked and the project has broken ground. Construction progress is back and forth, so the grand opening date is still unknown.
“Our customers are at the center of all that we do and meeting customers’ needs is Dollar General’s top priority when choosing store locations,” said the public relations department for the company. They saw the large group of college students and the public around us and realized what they needed to do for their company but also for us.
For college students specifically here at NGU, it takes us 20 plus minutes just to get into town to go to the grocery store. Starting next year though, we will have an even larger opportunity to stay close to campus and get the little things we may need.
Even though NGU has options for food items and jobs, there will be more opportunities to get items that are needed and to take care of yourself.
There are also job positions that will be posted as time goes on. The new Dollar General will need about 6-10 employees depending on how busy they may get. For whoever is interested and wants to learn more, you can go to the Dollar General website. You will need to look under the careers tab and find the specific location to get started on an application.
With getting a job at Dollar General, they provide training for each employee. You get to learn the ropes and properly gain multiple different assets that can help you later in life. It is one of America’s fastest-growing retailers with competitive wages.
The company wants to be a convenience for the public so they do not have to drive the 20 minutes out of the way. There was a chance that they wanted to take and it definitely will make the difference for the NGU community. It will give students a walking distance store that will provide things that we need and want.
Since the store will be close, it could increase the rate of how many students stay on campus. There will be less of a need to drive farther.
Dollar General sells a variety of different merchandise. In the store, you can see name brand and private brand products. The store also sells a variety of things that can range from food to party decorations. For NGU, the new Dollar General will also give a place to grab those last minute project materials.
With this new store coming to the area, it gives the public an advantage. Dollar General is a place with low prices so it can fit a budget. The company strives to help and serve a community, and that is why they are building a location next to us.
