An evening with Bob Dotson: the dinner and the showcase

Seth Atkins, Visual Arts Editor

On March 1, 2022, American storyteller, Bob Dotson, made a trip to North Greenville University to give students insight into the world of storytelling.

The evening began at dinner with Bob in attendance. The dinner was limited to School of Communication advisors and editors, located in the Presidents Dinning Room. As the dinner proceeded, students could ask questions and receive an answer straight from Bob Dotson himself.

After the dinner, NGU students had the opportunity to attend a showcase with Bob Dotson. Randall King, professor and associate dean to the School of Communication, introduced Dotson to the crowd. Dotson immersed the crowd in his world of storytelling. He told multiple tales from when he worked for The Today Show. After the art of storytelling was shared, students in the audience could participate in a Q&A section of the event presented by Dotson and King. As the event came to a close, students could grab a copy of Dotson’s book, “American Story,” along with a picture on their way out the door.

The photo blog below showcases the evening with this great American storyteller.
