North Greenville’s women’s basketball team is down to its final two games in the regular season. With the end drawing near, they are fighting to finish out with some wins. This season has been tough for the lady Crusaders with seven wins and 16 losses so far.
Abi Oates, sophomore, is one of the offensive leaders for the team averaging eight points a game and is second on the leader board with 202 points this season. Oates says that the team is still battling and encouraged by their coaches to step up and win their last games.
Oates said, “We just have to stay focused and put in the hard work.”
This season has also been filled with a few obstacles for the team.
Toward the beginning of the season, about half of the women’s basketball team had to sit out because of sicknesses.
Then, when half of the team returned, both coaches had a to take time to get over their illnesses.
With everyone back, Oates says that staying together through any other adversities is going to be big for the team as they go into their final games. Her biggest take away from the season so far is to push through adversity.
She said, “Trust the Lord in the difficulties of life. Adversity is going to come, but how I respond is most important.”
