Going up? Positive trends in enrollment numbers for 2021-22

Carly Johnson is one of several tour guides working for the North Greenville Admissions Office, but it is she who had the chance to connect with the Lewis family (Yates and parents Stephanie and Stewart) during their visit to North Greenville’s campus.

Visits like that of the Lewis family are just one step in the enrollment process one might see on any given college campus. These visits are also a vital part of North Greenville’s student recruitment.

Johnson said, “People say they didn’t know they wanted to come here until they actually set foot on campus. I don’t know if it’s a God thing or if they just feel at home here, but I think it’s good because they get to see the genuine community here.”

Vice President of Enrollment Marketing/Communications, Michael White said, “We were very happy and blessed with this last fall. We had about a 17% increase in new students, of all student types, led by a 13% increase in traditional students. In enrollment or university speak, you’re happy when it’s 1-2%.”

White said he believes this growth is a reflection of unity in the university’s goal and message.

He added, “You need to know who you are, be committed to your core values, mission and vision — and that’s something the university has done very well under the president’s leadership, the faculty, the staff and the trustees — everybody is moving in the same direction.”

The total number of new students increased by almost 100 going into the fall of 2021 as it was last fall (2020).
