Balancing Biology & A Nail Business

NGU’s Katherine McClure is a biology major and the owner of her on-campus business, “Nails by Kat.” Katherine never saw herself as a nail artist before saying, “I was never that artistic kids growing up. I just wasn’t that creative.”
After practicing her art, a little more on close friends and family, she decided to share her nail work online and the response was great! Katherine loves doing nails because it’s fun but also says, “it’s really relaxing.”
Studying medicine is her true passion and she hopes to go to medical school and start a career in emergency medicine after college. Balancing classes and a business can be hard, but she says, “priorities are important and as long as everything gets done for school first, then the time after is used to do nails.”
