How NGU student athletes stay safe during COVID

North Greenville University’s student athletes are following NCAA guidelines to try and keep players and teams safe from COVID. Once a week athletes and athletic trainers meet in NGU’s Hendrix field house from 5am to 7am for testing. These tests are taken as preventative measure to avoid the spread of COVID.

Student Athlete Kelli Davis says, “It’s the best way to ensure we still have our season and that we’re all staying healthy.”

Athletic trainers are also encouraging student athletes to continue to wear their masks in closed spaces and social distance whenever possible. Trainers are doing their best to help teams continue to play and practice, and COVID testing is another helpful step that makes sure athletic season will occur.

Athletic trainer Andrea Davis explains, “The pandemic is still very active right now and with the Delta variant going on it is something that is still very virent right now.”
