A coffee date with Kayleigh

A coffee date with Kayleigh

As a student at North Greenville University, needing caffeine and a space to study is an inevitable part of day-to-day life. I documented my life over the past few weeks at four local coffee shops as I spent time with the community there. The coffee shops are Tandem Creperie and Coffeehouse, Scandi Tiny, Barista Alley and Starbucks.

Tandem Creperie and Coffeehouse, located in downtown Travelers Rest, is known for their delicious crepes and lattes. You don’t want to miss this iconic breakfast spot. Here, I typically order a lavender latte.

Tandem has some of the best coffee around Travelers Rest. Brandon Brown and I decided to take a trip to this local hole in the wall to see if their coffee could get our day started.

Located downtown Greer, Barista Alley is a favorite study spots for students of multiple universities, including those at North Greenville University. Here, I typically order an agave latte.

Barista recently moved into a new building downtown, so junior Layla Duszynski and I recently went to scope out the new architecture.

Barista not only has top notch coffee, but their new building has an upstairs that offers plenty of space for studying and chatting it up with friends.

Everyone has heard of Starbucks, but have you heard that there is a new Starbucks on Highway 25 in Travelers Rest? Here, I typically order a double shot on ice with cinnamon dolce syrup, but this day I ordered a seasonal pumpkin spice.

Junior Faith Acton gives a “thumbs up” to this new Starbucks location! Her caramel macchiato got her through all of her homework.

Last but not least is Scandi Tiny Coffee in Greer, a North Greenville favorite because of its close proximity to campus. Here, I order an agave latte or a seasonal drink. Their current pumpkin latte offering is delicious.

I grabbed coffee with freshman Espi Williams here last week to catch up on life! Don’t let the name “Tiny” fool you. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

*Featured Image: We can’t forget about the alternatives to coffee at coffee shops! Scandi Tiny’s matcha latte is a go-to when I don’t need the quick rush of caffeine that espresso offers. Does this make it a matcha date with Kayleigh?
