Iron Sharpens Iron

With North Greenville football kicking off this past week, fans and players are ecstatic to be back on the field and into the stands. “With me coming in as a freshman last year, I never got to experience a real college football game, let alone fans, so this year just means so much to me and everyone on the team” says Luke Davis sophomore Defensive Back. As a team, the Crusaders need to corral their excitement and go back to business on the field after a year with no football”.

The big conversation for every football team in America is how they’re going to bounce back from covid and how they’re going to handle it. North Greenville is taking charge with a team full of leaders and a great foundation. “I mean everyone on the team is close, we are together every day but there is also just a team full of great leaders. “Luke Davis could not say enough about the team morale and the brotherhood they have that other teams just don’t have.

There’s more to it than just that though, the team goals are what keeps everyone on the same page. Coach Farrington stressed this whole off season its one week at a time, the focus must be week by week. Taking it week by week, day by day is so important for overcoming team goals and believing in the mission. If every one of your players isn’t bought in and wearing the heart on their sleeve, a program will not be successful. Every Crusader is bought in and has faith for every man on their roster, that wins games and better yet, that wins championships.

North Greenville is itching to prove teams wrong and gain some respect throughout this conference. The Crusaders aren’t going through as confident and cocky, but their coming into the season with their brothers one play at a time. North Greenville is currently 2-0 and becoming a humble beast in the Gulf Coast Conference. Covid or not, the crusaders are ready for any team in college football.
