Construction workers have been busy recently working on building a new Starbucks in Travelers Rest. This location is set to be open summer of 2021.

Features of this location will include a covered patio and a drive-thru. This location will only be about 15-20 minutes from North Greenville’s Tigerville campus, so not bad if you want a small coffee or drink in the morning. The shop may become a college haven as it is approximately the same distance from Furman University as well.

Students at North Greenville had mixed feelings about the new location. Some students said they have had heard about it and are excited about the recent news, but other students were unsure about the Starbucks opening a new shop.

“I don’t think it’s necessary since there is already one in TR, but it will be nice to be closer,” said North Greenville student Mordecai Jordan.

The new location is being built right beside Wendy’s off of Highway 25.

North Greenville students have a variety of Starbucks experiences with some going once or twice a month and others becoming a more regular fixture.

North Greenville student Emma Sox said she gets the caramel frappe and usually gets Starbucks once every two weeks while Jordan said he usually gets coffee every day and prefers the caramel latte.

“Yes, absolutely!” was Jordan’s response about visiting the new location when it opens.

Even people who aren’t coffee lovers can still order things like tea and other iced drinks without the coffee part of it. There will also be a bakery section they have where customers can get baked treats like a scone or muffin.

So for coffee lovers, as well as non-coffee lovers, go check it out soon.
