Lord of the Rings: Tom Brady takes Super Bowl LV

Super Bowl LV had an outcome that nobody expected. When the game clock hit 0:00, many mouths dropped open from being mind blown and heartbroken.

Many people were also jumping up and down while screaming.

NGU senior and Chiefs fan Will Kahaly said, “Last year, the Chiefs won the Super Bowl while wearing red jerseys, and this Super Bowl they are also wearing red.”

The Kansas City Chiefs were predicted to win by a three-point margin.

Well, that was not the case.

The underdogs that were the Tampa Bay Buccaneers shocked the nation with an unanticipated upset resulting in a final score of 31-9.

Kahaly mentioned that Tom Brady has never lost a Super Bowl while wearing a white jersey. Brady wore white during this past Super Bowl which worked out in his favor.

The matchup between two of the nation’s best quarterbacks was referred to as, The G.O.A.T. vs The Kid.

The Chiefs makeshift offensive line scrambled throughout the night to stop the Buccaneers defense, but without left tackle Eric Fisher and right tackle Mitchell Schwartz, the Chiefs did not reach that momentum.

The nation’s current best NFL quarterback Patrick Mahomes did all he could against the Buccaneers defense to secure points on the board but had to settle for three field goals instead.

“If the Bucs are going to win, it is going to be because of the Chief’s offensive line,” Kahaly said. “If the Bucs pass rush can get to Mahomes, he will end up throwing interceptions.”

The Buccaneers did what Kahaly said they would need to do to claim the victory. Mahomes threw two interceptions.

Mahomes nearly ran for 500 yards before throwing or getting sacked. He made the most of what his offensive line was giving him, even though his receivers did not complete the passes thrown.

Mahomes did make some of his most impressive throws in his career during the Super Bowl.

In an interview on ESPN, Mahomes said, “We can’t let this define us [the loss]. We have to continue to get better going into next year and prepare ourselves to hopefully be in this game again.”

The last meeting of the two teams was in week 12 of the regular season which resulted in a Chief’s victory. The Buccaneer’s eyes were on the prize of the Lombardi Trophy as well as defeating one of the top offenses in the NFL.

Tom Brady and his team made winning the Super Bowl look easy.

Former NGU student and Tom Brady fan Josue Mateo said, “Tom Brady is just so good; he is going to dominate at home. He is going to overlook what the media is saying and do what he does best, which is win.”

The G.O.A.T. did what he does best and won the Super Bowl. Brady won his seventh Super Bowl title along with winning his NFL-record fifth MVP award.

Brady also overlooked the negative comments that the media was relaying the week before the game. He came out and dominated on his home field.

“This is the game everyone watches. Many have said his [Brady] performance level is going down,” Mateo said. “If he throws his passes right on the dot, then they score all day every day.”

Brady had stellar statistics after the unexpected blowout. He completed 21 of 29 passes for 201 years and 3 touchdowns.

Brady, unlike Mahomes, was barely touched on the other side of the ball. His offensive line made the Super Bowl feel like just another game because of the way they protected him.

Brady’s unbelievable performance as a 43-year-old was nearly perfect. He threw bullets and had his partner in crime, Rob Gronkowski, there to spike the ball in the end zone.

Not only did the offensive line dominate, but the defensive line also smothered Mahomes. The Buccaneers worked together as a team and fed off each other’s energy to seal the win.

The Buccaneers are the first team in the NFL that can confidently announce that they won the Super Bowl in their home stadium.

The G.O.A.T was no match for the Kid in this battle. This matchup may look like déjà vu in next year’s Super Bowl.
