Holiday with your holi-bae: the student guide to the best holiday gifts
Autumn Lowry, Staff Writer
It’s finally the greatest time of the year, Christmas time.
Now that Thanksgiving is over, there are no more excuses. It’s time for the tree to go up. Elf is on repeat, and Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You” is stuck in your head. The smells of fresh baked cookies fill the room, and baby it’s cold outside.
One of the great joys of Christmas is being able to surprise your loved ones with that perfect holiday gift.
The best Christmas gift is something personal. Hopefully you know this person well, and you’ve been paying attention to the quirky things they nerd out about.
A great place to find custom made items is Etsy. If you’re looking for personalized calendars, clothes, music or anything else, someone on Etsy is selling it. Oftentimes, the more personal a gift, the better, and Etsy specializes in gifts they’ll really love.
Treat your mom to a massage/spa day. You can always purchase gift certificates at your local store so she can pick a day that works best for her. She can put her feet up and not think about the millions of other things she’s got going on. Moms also love jewelry. You can never go wrong with a pretty necklace.
This may seem like a cop-out, but gift cards are never a bad idea. They are able to spend the money on exactly what they want. Other great places to buy gift cards would be GameStop, Target or Nike. People love to shop.
Whatever present you decide to buy for that special loved one, just remember to think about what would make them feel special. Don’t forget to wrap it; that’s part of the fun.
